Artwork
Good artwork is essential to produce top-quality images.
This is the most essential information you need for the preparation
of artwork so your finished product will meet your expectations.
It is important for you to understand that VERY BIG graphic banners
can be made from very small files as long as the resolution is high.
Without high resolution the image becomes blurry and the pixels
begin to show as the image is blown up to a flag size. Custom-flag.net
will not produce an image that will disappoint you; good artwork
is key to the finished product.
Electronic Files
We can accept your files in the following formats:
Illustrator 9.0 or higher
CorelDraw 10.0 or higher
Photoshop 6.0 or higher
We accept Mac OS files or PC files. Vector files (outlines or curves)
must be saved in either Adobe Illustrator 9.0 EPS or CorelDraw 10.0
EPS files. EPS files should not be mistaken by simply saving with
the letters "EPS" at the end of the file name. For example,
Photoshop files saved in the EPS format are still bitmap files.
Do not supply logos or other line-work illustrations as bitmapped
art unless all you have is a scanned image.
We cannot use GIF or JPEG files. Often people think that the graphics
they find on the web can be used for printing. Because web graphics
are very low resolution your project will not reproduce well. Most
web graphics are clones of better quality files and it is worth
the effort to obtain the original vector-based graphics for your
project.
Scanned images need to be saved at an appropriate resolution of
+300 dpi @ 1/4 to 1/3 of final size. Save Photoshop file in TIFF
or PSD format in CMYK color. A 12" x 8" Photoshop image
@300 dpi between 60 & 80 MB will yield very good results when
enlarged to over 1000%.
All desired colors should be specified. Adobe Illustrator or CorelDraw
can convert your colors to CMYK . Digital printing on fabric is
closest to the Uncoated range of the Pantone® Matching System.
Please convert all fonts.
Please save all files in an editable (flattened) format; do not
embed files.
Color Variances
It is important to note that inks that are used on paper are not
the same as dyes that are used on fabric. The colors will be a very
close match, but there are cases where you will see a variance.
Exact color matches are not always possible.
